This post is for you if you’ve ever wondered why your business should be on Google My Business.
Owning a business comes with many decisions. One of those decisions is where to promote your business online.
Our blog has covered many social media platforms, such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, & Pinterest.
But what about Google My Business?
Let’s start with the basics.
What is Google My Business?
According to this HubSpot article GMB is:
a free tool that lets you manage how your business appears on Google Search and Maps. That includes adding your business name, location, and hours; monitoring and replying to customer reviews; adding photos; learning where and how people are searching for you, and more.
In other words, it is a great way for business owners to control how their business shows up in Google’s search engine results by offering people more detailed information about your business.
When done correctly, having your business listed on Google will also increase your SEO & Google rankings.
Googling Services & Products
What is the first thing that you do when you are searching for a service or product?
You go to Google! And that is what your customers will do as well.
In fact, did you know that Google receives over 63,000 searches per second on any given day?
Making sure that you have your Google listing setup correctly could very well be the key in outperforming your competition.
For example, let’s say that you search for “exterminator near me” and get 5 matches. If only one of those matches has a GMB, that automatically comes up with with customer reviews, location, phone number, hours, etc…which one do you think most people will give their business to?
They will pick the one with all the contact info, reviews and location.
Right?
On The Table…
With Google being the #1 search engine in the world, setting up a GMB listing is great way for local businesses to establish themselves and get ahead of the competition.
