5 Reasons Why Your Creative Business Needs a Facebook Group

If you are a creative business owner, then you probably already have your business on at least one social media platform (at least I hope you do!)

But, have you ever thought about the importance of creating a Facebook Group for your business?

It is no secret that Facebook’s algorithm has gone through a major overhaul in the past couple of years. Reaching new audiences without the help of Facebook ads, while not impossible, requires a lot more strategic planning than before.

But, with a Facebook Group, reaching your ideal audience could be easier than you think.

Let’s look at the 5 reasons that your creative business needs a Facebook group.

1.) Build Your Email List

A Facebook group is a great place to build your email list.

How? You might ask.

Well, when creating your group you are given the option of asking up to 3 questions to let people into your group. While I wouldn’t advise denying access to the group if they DON’T leave their email address (it’s actually against Facebook’s TOS), you can ask if they want to opt-in to receiving email updates, insider knowledge, a free pdf/book, etc.

2.) Safe & Personal Space for Your Audience

As Facebook is becoming more and more about building personal and private spaces for its users, more emphasis is being put on groups.

Groups have always been a safe & personal space for people to come, connect, & talk over issues without everyone on their friends list seeing what they are talking about. So it only makes sense that Facebook would want to expand on this.

**Be sure that when you create your group that you have it set to a closed group. Closed groups typically have more engaged members.

3.) Only Your Ideal Audience Will Join

The best thing about a Facebook group is that when people join your group, you know that it is because they are interested in your content!

You aren’t creating content and throwing it out there hoping to connect with the right audience. These people have requested to join of their own free will…because they want to hear what you have to say.

4.) Build a Community That Knows, Likes, & Trusts You

What better place to build a community of followers who know, like & trust you than in a Facebook group?

It’s so much easier to show up on live video, post selfies, and just be completely authentic within your group. And this is what people want to see! This will help your audience connect with you on a new level.

5.) Market Research

Because it is your Facebook group, you can easily do market research with your audience to find out what they want & need from you.

This is also an amazing way to pre-sale your services or products! You’ll know before creating something whether or not it is what your target audience is looking for.

On the Table…

With all the recent changes within Facebook to promote personal relationships between people, there has never been a better time to jump in and create your own Facebook community full of raving & loyal fans. Bring your audience in a little closer and let them get to know, like & trust you…and then buy from you!
