How to insult a toddler- sounds like a strange topic for a how to blog, especially from a company that is currently teaching social media for business. Trust us, this is an important trick in the process to remember this in your life each and every day.

Learn to Write

Think about a toddler learning to write, or remember back to when you first started writing your name. Perhaps the little one is still trying to figure out if they are left or right handed. They know their name, and maybe how to spell it, but writing it? A whole different animal. They start by holding the pen in a clutched fist, too close at first for it to reach the paper, then too far away. Perhaps they finally get a few scratches on the paper and it resembles their name. Even with a backward e and upside down a, would you say, “you are dumb, you don’t know how to write your name!” Would you insult a toddler learning to write their name?

Of course not.

What You Are Doing Everyday

When you are on social media- or learning a new technology- how many times have you said, “I don’t know how to use Facebook, I’m dumb” or “I’m dumb with technology.” How many of these times are you saying you are dumb because you didn’t get it right the first few times? Or- do you even say you are dumb before you have tried something yet?

How To Learn

When you are learning something new you are like this toddler. It may feel uncomfortable at first, like holding a pen for the first time, but that is okay. You are learning! Another analogy; when are go to a gym, it feels good to use new muscles, but if you haven’t exercised in a while it can be really difficult. But once you have learned it, you got it!

Be Kind

Yes, it feels weird, but every time you get frustrated, remember that toddler. Be kind <3
